Where to stay

If you ask around, people will tell you that Cappadocia is incredible but 3 nights will be more than enough. Sure, for the standard journey made of balloon flight and sunrise maybe yes, but we wanted to see and try everything Cappadocia had to offer, so we spent here 5 nights in total.

The main village and life of Cappadocia is concentrated in Göreme, the historic centre of the region where everything happens.

The places/hotels where you’ll want to stay are located here and mostly of them offer the best views for sunrise view of the hot air balloons.

Mostly of these accommodations are called Cave Houses and they overlook the town of Göreme.

Here are those we’ve stayed and suggest you guys to check out:

Koza Cave Hotel

in Göreme

Sultan Cave Hotel

Located on the main hill of Göreme, it offers really incredible rooms, a giant terrace and maybe the best restaurant we tried, called “Seten”.

How to move around:

Reaching Cappadocia will probably mean for you that you’ll be first flying to one of the two close airports Nevshir or Kayseri.

Although buses and private transfers are available, we suggest you to rent a car during the time you’ll be spending in Cappadocia: this will give you pure freedom in exploring… ( we paid 120 euro for 6 days rent).

here the list with the best things to do

Watch the sunset from one of the famous terraces in Göreme

Jump on a hot air balloon flight at sunrise

Visit Pasabag and St. Simon Church

A really cool activity to try is for sure a ride in the red valley. During our visit, we personally try two different activities here: the horse ride and the vintage car ride booked with Sky Way Travel agency.

Go for a ride in the red valley during sunset

Watch the sunset at Rose Valley

Visit the two main carpets shops of Göreme
